Job Summary

21st Century Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team. As a Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of manufacturing processes that meet product requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement cost reductions, product improvement, process improvement, and yield improvement processes that are sustainable.
  • Define key process parameters and establish process capabilities and control methodology.
  • Interface with sales personnel and customers to resolve any differential between customer requirements and SMC capabilities.
  • Maintain document control systems and associated databases.
  • Participate in Management review meetings as needed.
  • Monitor product performance - properties, physical characteristics (length, straightness, surface condition), and yield.

Requirements

A BS in Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering, with at least 2 years of relevant experience in the metals processing industry is required. MS in Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering is preferred. A thorough understanding of physical metallurgy as it applies to thermomechanical processing and properties of metals is also required.

Skills and Abilities

  • The ability to prepare written reports and correspondence as well as presentations to senior leadership.
  • The ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong technical competence and ability to troubleshoot and address customer concerns.
