Additionally, this position oversees store operations during the Store Manager's absence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. *Accountable for store opening and/or closing in the absence of the Store Manager.
  2. *Provide guidance to team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently while maintaining adequate floor coverage to meet customer demands.
  3. Responsible for training and developing Associates, recommending high-potential candidates for advancement within the store.
  4. *Lead by example to guarantee a positive customer experience at Feeders Supply.
  5. *Identify staffing challenges during shifts and communicate with the Store Manager to ensure adequate, trained personnel are available, especially during peak times.
  6. *Offer feedback to the Store Manager in preparation for new hire evaluations and annual performance reviews.
  7. *Effectively manage attendance, meal breaks, and ensure compliance, advising the Store Manager of any discrepancies for resolution.
  8. *Communicate daily and weekly objectives for store personnel as defined by the Store Manager, particularly regarding special promotions or events.
  9. Follow up with the Store Manager on performance issues of Associates to ensure they are documented and addressed promptly.
  10. *Collaborate with store personnel to tackle shrinkage issues and uphold an effective Loss Prevention strategy.
    1. Control shrinkage by managing the inventory check-in and reconciliation process.
    2. Timely processing of damaged merchandise and non-resalable customer returns.
    3. Train Associates on monitoring shoplifting and internal controls, evaluating methods to reduce potential shrinkage.
  11. *Execute store merchandising tasks, including but not limited to:
    1. Building and modifying end caps.
    2. Printing and maintaining tags and promotional signage.
    3. Resetting pet food aisles.
    4. Rotating stock; training on proper stock rotation procedures.
    5. Merchandising aquariums (maximum weight 50 lbs).
  12. *Assist with all return processes.
  13. Provide backup support within the store, including but not limited to:
    1. Cash register operations.
    2. Preparing weekly schedules.
    3. Making bank deposits.
    4. Processing payroll.
  14. *Load and unload trucks using a forklift, pallet jack, and/or dolly.
  15. *Review stock levels and recommend inventory adjustments to the Store Manager based on business needs; collaborate with the Store Manager on ordering and receiving inventory.
  16. *Place Replenishment Orders and Purchase Orders.
    1. Assist in checking in all orders and reconciling them.
    2. Maintain appropriate inventory levels on shelves consistently.
    3. Ensure stockers are rotating food with each delivery.
  17. Understand our role within the communities we serve and exemplify efforts to maintain a positive customer perception of the store and the organization as a whole.
  18. *Must be capable of performing all duties outlined in the Shift Supervisor and Retail Sales Associate roles.
  19. *Other responsibilities as assigned by the Store Manager or Management.

  14. Adapt to working in environments both inside and outside, around loud noises, and in varying temperatures.
  15. Utilize necessary office equipment, computer software, hardware, and tools.
  16. Learn new technology and systems as the business evolves.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
  1. This position requires working in both internal and external environments.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING
  1. Three to Five (3-5) years of Retail Store Management experience, preferably in the Pet Food sector.
  2. Experience with Microsoft Office, cash registers, calculators, copiers, and fax machines.
  3. Familiarity with retail POS systems and inventory management systems.
  4. Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for regular duties.
EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS

  2. Ability to use handheld scanners during inventory check-in and reconciliation.
  3. May be required to operate a forklift, pallet jack, and dolly.
