Position: Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Construction Quality Assurance

Location: Greenville, South Carolina
Employment Type: Full-Time

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 0-4 years of experience in construction quality assurance, civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, project management, or solid waste landfill quality assurance.
  • Possession of EIT Licensure or the ability to obtain it within one year.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a background in data evaluation and interpretation.
  • Experience in delivering verbal and written recommendations, as well as producing reports, calculations, technical figures, charts, drawings, and specifications.
  • Field experience and familiarity with construction environments.
  • Self-driven with exceptional time management and prioritization abilities.
  • Capability to complete projects and tasks independently, while also collaborating effectively within a project team.
  • A demonstrated history and interest in ongoing participation in professional and industry organizations.
Daily Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) for landfill projects, which includes:
    • Pre-construction planning
    • Monitoring
    • Sampling
    • Testing
    • Reporting to regulatory agencies during landfill construction projects.
  • Implement technical specifications to ensure adherence to client project requirements, guiding field personnel in:
    • Sampling
    • Testing
    • On-site data collection and documentation
  • Collaborate closely with a team of geotechnical engineers to assess settlement, slope stability, seepage, evaluate liner systems, leachate collection, and closure cap calculations.
  • Assign and assess laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports.
  • Conduct engineering calculations utilizing established formulas and methodologies.
  • Prepare detailed reports and correspondence regarding project direction and progress.
  • Undertake a variety of field and office assignments as required.
