Geotechnical Staff Engineer Position

NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Staff Engineer to manage a diverse range of geotechnical projects from our Greenville or Columbia, SC office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain pressure meter testing equipment to ensure accurate results.
  • Lay out borings and test pits using conventional surveying and GPS technology.
  • Observe and classify test pits, and perform hang auger borings to gather valuable data.
  • Participate in site seismic testing and Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA) testing to assess soil conditions.
  • Classify samples obtained from drilling operations to inform project decisions.
  • Conduct routine field and laboratory tests to ensure project quality and safety.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 0-4 years of applicable experience required.
  • E.I.T. certification required (or ability to obtain within 3 months).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • This role involves approximately 70% fieldwork and 30% office work with occasional travel.
