We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Engineer II - Life Sciences to lead our efforts in designing and developing polymer fiber solutions and delivering textile products. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge and experience in fiber science and engineering, braiding technology, and advanced characterization techniques.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research and development projects to develop innovative new technologies on polymeric fibers.
- Lead the fiber/textile research involving chemistry, formulation, braiding, and technology development for new product innovations.
- Identify, develop, and implement new materials solutions of polymeric fibers, and perform in-depth characterization and testing.
- Collaborate effectively within cross-functional project teams and support technology transfer and scale-up efforts.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in fiber technology, and interact with customers and key strategic partners to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable conclusions.
- Demonstrated technical judgement/accomplishments, project leadership, team collaboration, and both verbal and written communications skills.
- Flexible interpersonal skills, collaborative nature, and commitment to innovation.
- Self-motivated with ability to prioritize goals and objectives with minimum supervision.
- BS Degree with a minimum of 12+ years' experience, or MS with 7+ years of experience or PhD with 3+ years of experience in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical engineering, Textile Engineering or a related field.
- Expertise and experience on polymeric fibers (polymer chemistry, formulation, processing, etc.).
- Knowledge of fiber processing techniques and characterization required.
