Position: Assistant Principal - Elementary School

Overview:

The Assistant Principal plays a crucial role in the administration and leadership of the Elementary School, ensuring adherence to the educational policies set forth by the school board.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Valid New York State administrative certification (SBL, SDA, SDL).
  • A minimum of three years of teaching experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the administration and supervision of the Elementary School in alignment with established policies.
  2. Engage in strategic planning and decision-making to advocate for the best interests of the school's educational programs.
  3. Implement evaluation and supervision systems for instructional improvement, including teacher observations and feedback.
  4. Support the Principal in managing instructional and curricular initiatives.
  5. Conduct evaluations and provide supervision for teaching staff and support personnel as directed.
  6. Assist in the development and communication of building procedures to all stakeholders.
  7. Contribute to the maintenance of an effective student record system, covering attendance, grading, and discipline.
  8. Help establish and uphold safety and emergency protocols within the school environment.
  9. Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of certified and non-certified staff.
  10. Ensure compliance with Board policies and collective bargaining agreements.
  11. Maintain adherence to all relevant federal and state regulations.
  12. Facilitate a positive school/community relations program.
  13. Supervise student behavior and enforce disciplinary measures fairly.
  14. Administer attendance policies effectively.
  15. Act as a liaison for visitors to ensure security and proper protocol.
  16. Attend Board of Education meetings and contribute as directed.
  17. Engage in professional development activities to enhance leadership skills.
  18. Represent the Principal in special education and intervention meetings as needed.
  19. Oversee student activities and related areas as assigned.
  20. Participate in the Principal's leadership team.
  21. Assist in data collection and analysis for assessment purposes.
  22. Complete necessary federal and state reporting requirements.
  23. Perform record-keeping tasks as assigned by the Principal.
  24. Support the development and execution of the master schedule.
  25. Participate in school and community events to foster relationships.
  26. Collaborate with staff to enhance educational programs.
  27. Serve as a point of contact for parent groups as designated.
  28. Supervise departments as assigned by the Principal.
  29. Assist in budget management to ensure effective resource allocation.
  30. Communicate important information promptly to all relevant parties.
  31. Prepare reports and communications in a timely and professional manner.
  32. Work collaboratively with district departments to meet student needs.
  33. Participate in administrative meetings and workshops as required.

Shift Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $100,000.00 / Per Year
