Job Summary

The Monticello Central School District is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the role of Assistant Principal at our Elementary School. This is a full-time position that requires a strong educational background, administrative experience, and excellent leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility for the administration and supervision of the Elementary School in accordance with the policies developed by the school board.
  • Participate in school corporation planning and decision making to represent the best educational interests of the Elementary school programs and the school corporation.
  • Implement evaluation and supervision systems for improvement of professional teachers and instruction, including observation, report preparation, conferencing, and instructional leadership.
  • Assist the principal in the administration of instructional and curricular programs for the building, including evaluating and supervising the work of teachers and support staff.
  • Develop and maintain effective building procedures, including student record systems, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
  • Recruit, screen, interview, recommend, orient, and supervise certified teaching staff and non-certified support staff as required by the principal.
  • Implement board policies and collective bargaining agreements, and maintain adherence to all applicable Federal and State regulations and laws.
  • Develop and maintain an effective school/community relations program, and supervise student conduct and enforce discipline policies.
  • Attend and participate in meetings of the Board of Education and its committees, and participate actively in professional growth activities.
  • Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the principal.
Requirements
  • Current and appropriate New York State administrative certification (SBL, SDA, SDL).
  • 3 years experience as a classroom teacher.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires a strong educational background, administrative experience, and excellent leadership skills. The successful candidate will be required to work effectively and collaboratively with all district departments and administrators to successfully meet both the academic and affective needs of students.
