Key Responsibilities
  • Properly apply fertilizer and plant protection products to meet the needs of growers
  • Process work orders against scheduled dates and times, ensuring timely completion of tasks
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to pesticide application and chemical storage
  • Follow all Wilbur-Ellis Company safety rules and protocols
  • Lift containers weighing up to 80 pounds and coordinate the use of equipment
  • Perform pre-trip inspections and arrive at job sites on time
  • Complete necessary paperwork, including application records and shipping papers
  • Properly handle and store chemical containers and ensure equipment is repaired or serviced as needed
  • Participate in blood testing and/or alcohol testing when scheduled
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of equipment as needed
Requirements
  • Familiarity with laws and regulations governing pesticide application
  • Commercial driver's license with Haz-Mat and Tank vehicle endorsements (a plus)
  • Basic measurements and calculations for calibration (gallons per acre, and acres per tank)
  • Working knowledge of application equipment
  • Able to accurately locate application sites
  • Qualified Applicator's Certification license and attendance at required safety training meetings
  • Bi-annual medical exams and participation in DOT random selection for drug and alcohol testing
  • 30-day blood test for Cholinesterase Monitoring

Benefits

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $28.41 per hour. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
