Position Overview
The Facility Maintenance Specialist is tasked with the upkeep of the facility, machinery, and operational systems at our Liberty site.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Install, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical systems through preventive maintenance.

2. Identify issues by monitoring mechanical equipment in operation and implement corrective measures.

3. Disassemble machinery and replace defective components as necessary.

4. Manage inventory of equipment parts and supplies by conducting stock checks and placing orders.

5. Safely utilize hand tools and equipment to execute job responsibilities.

6. Analyze issues to determine required materials and transport them to the work area.

7. Prepare maintenance documentation by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing findings as part of the Mechanical Integrity program.

8. Maintain a safe and organized work environment by adhering to site protocols, rules, and regulations.


9. Operate mobile equipment safely to transport materials and work from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts to install, maintain, or repair equipment.

10. Collaborate with other departments and trades to ensure successful task completion.

11. Conduct demolition work on decommissioned equipment.

12. Follow all safety policies and procedures, participating in plant safety initiatives. Ensure all necessary permits and/or lockout/tagout procedures are completed before working on equipment.

13. Support and comply with all quality management system requirements, including ISO-9001:2015 as applicable to this role.

14. Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas and beyond, as needed.

15. Be prepared for exposure to various environmental conditions (extreme temperatures) for a significant portion of the workday.

16. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

2. Strong multi-craft mechanical skills and experience – including millwright, welding, and basic electrical work.

3. Proficiency in installing/aligning pumps, connecting simple 3-phase equipment, and performing piping and valve installations.

4. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience preferred.

5. Capability to operate machinery and technical equipment.

6. Effective communication, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while adapting to changing priorities.

7. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.

8. Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with other departments.
