Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at the Art Institute of Chicago. Key Responsibilities
  • Cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards
  • Supervise hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and recommending disciplinary action as needed
  • Store food in designated areas, following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils, and clean workstations thoroughly before leaving the area
  • Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner
  • Relay relevant information directly to the supervisor
  • Keep up with peak production and service hours, and monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong culinary background, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. You will also need to be familiar with food safety and sanitation procedures, and have a strong attention to detail.
