Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies, including troubleshooting and reporting equipment problems.
- Decontaminate and sterilize anesthesia equipment and supplies, and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with difficult airway management and provide support to anesthesia providers.
- Transport and distribute anesthesia-related equipment and supplies, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in turning over rooms to minimize downtime between cases.
- Retrieve and distribute necessary medications and equipment to anesthesia providers.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Minimum of one year experience working in a healthcare setting or successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or similar healthcare-related training program.
- Direct patient care and/or surgical/OR environment experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
- Extended periods walking, standing, lifting, and carrying equipment (usually not over 20 lbs.).
- Capable of pushing and maneuvering equipment weighing up to 150 pounds.
- May be exposed to bodily fluids.
