We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Aveanna Healthcare.

About the Role

This Long-Term Substitute position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with special needs. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe and supportive learning environment that fosters growth and development.

Responsibilities
  • Promote the physical and cognitive development of all children through engaging and adaptive lesson plans.
  • Provide a successful educational setting for students with special services needs by using relevant pedagogical practices and instructional technology.
  • Foster active learning by observing and evaluating student performance outcomes, monitoring progress, and providing timely feedback.
  • Serve as a case manager, facilitating IEP meetings, and coordinating communication between families and staff.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess a valid Pennsylvania Special Education Certificate (PK-12 or PK-8) and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A bachelor's degree is required, and prior experience in special education is preferred. As an employer accepting Medicare and Medicaid funds, employees must comply with all health-related requirements, including required vaccinations and testing.

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
