At Bristol-Myers Squibb, we are dedicated to developing innovative formulations and processes that support drug products through both clinical and commercial stages. As a Pharmaceutical Research Scientist, you will have the opportunity to work with our team of experts in the Drug Product Development (DPD) department, located in New Brunswick, NJ.

Our team is responsible for developing and characterizing long-acting injectable drug products, utilizing advanced analytical techniques such as HPLC, spectroscopy, and DLS. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for adapting and refining analytical techniques to effectively characterize drug products, and establishing robust, reproducible workflows and methods that can be applied to future projects.

We are looking for highly motivated and self-driven individuals who have demonstrated innovative problem-solving ability and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: in-vitro release methods, long-acting injectable formulation development, liquid chromatography, and spectroscopic characterization.

The Summer Internship in Drug Product Development program is a 10-week internship that will provide you with the opportunity to work on a guided research project within a PD Project Team. You will have the chance to gain valuable industry and functional experience, work on challenging assignments, learn about BMS, and meet diverse company representatives.

Key responsibilities of the internship include:

* Characterizing long-acting injectable drug products using advanced analytical techniques
* Developing and refining analytical methods to effectively characterize drug products
* Establishing robust, reproducible workflows and methods that can be applied to future projects

Requirements for the internship include:

* Currently enrolled in an accredited university program seeking a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Bio

medical Engineering, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related areas
* GPA of 3.0 or greater
* Strong hands-on laboratory experience and knowledge in analytical techniques, including but not limited to, HPLC/UPLC, UV-Vis, Fluorescent assay, in vitro drug release assays
* Ability to solve problems independently with minimal supervision
* Good oral/written communication and presentation skills
