Executive Director Opportunity

The Laredo Housing Authority is seeking a highly qualified Executive Director to lead its team. As the Chief Executive Officer, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the agency and implement policies and programs established by the Board of Commissioners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer, manage, maintain, plan, and direct the Housing Authority's programs and employees.
  • Oversee the agency's operations, including public housing units and Federal Housing Choice (Section 8) rental assistance vouchers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the agency's performance and achieve its mission.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Commissioners to establish and oversee policy for the agency.
Requirements:
  • Seven (7) or more years of managerial experience in public housing, a regulatory agency, or a similar setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Management, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university (master's degree preferred).
  • Ability to obtain a Certified Management Executive (CME) Certification within six (6) months of employment.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to submit to a drug screening and criminal background check.
