About the Role

The Maricopa Community College District is seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Program Manager to lead our district's sustainability initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic approaches to address environmental issues, promoting sustainability practices, and overseeing sustainability-related reporting and disclosure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Sustainability Strategies: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize sustainability initiatives, develop and implement plans to achieve environmental goals, and monitor progress.
  • Lead Sustainability Programs and Projects: Oversee the development and implementation of sustainability programs and projects, including energy conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable building design.
  • Provide Technical Guidance and Support: Offer technical expertise and guidance to district staff on sustainability-related matters, including energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste reduction.
  • Develop and Manage Sustainability Reports: Create and manage sustainability reports, including the development of metrics and benchmarks to measure progress towards environmental goals.
  • Build Partnerships and Collaborations: Foster partnerships with external organizations, agencies, and stakeholders to advance sustainability initiatives and promote environmental excellence.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Sustainability or Related Field: A master's degree in sustainability, environmental science, or a related field is required.
  • 3+ Years of Experience in Sustainability: A minimum of 3 years of experience in sustainability, including experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies, leading sustainability programs, and providing technical guidance and support.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including district staff, external partners, and community members.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines, and to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
