Job Title: Contract Lead Preschool Teacher/Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Contract Lead Preschool Teacher/Instructor to join our team at the City of Cape Coral, FL. This is a contract position governed by the terms and conditions of the employment agreement.

Job Summary:

The Contract Lead Preschool Teacher/Instructor will be responsible for providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children's growth and school readiness. The successful candidate will plan, organize, and initiate recreational programs in accordance with facility guidelines, supervise and ensure the safety of participants, and perform various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of children, promoting their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children during programs, taking appropriate action in case of accidents or illnesses.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, encouraging family involvement in the program and providing daily updates.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including cash handling, daily reporting, inventory control, and record-keeping.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective program.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) or equivalent certification required.
  • Emergent Literacy for VPK instructor's course completed.
  • Two years or more of successful experience in a child-related field preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR certification required within 90 days of hire/promotion.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
Working Conditions:

The Contract Lead Preschool Teacher/Instructor will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with children, parents, and colleagues. The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This is a contract position, and the successful candidate will be required to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned. The position does not include benefits.
