Job Overview:
Position Purpose:
The Maintenance Operations Technician II plays a crucial role in executing various general labor tasks, focusing on the operation and maintenance of equipment across multiple facilities. This position requires proficiency in operating air compressors and pneumatic tools, ensuring the mechanical readiness of plant equipment through effective maintenance procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment, documenting any deficiencies and adhering to maintenance protocols.
- Inform supervisors of maintenance needs promptly.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned, maintaining compliance with OSHA and company safety regulations.
Work Environment:
The role may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, with a moderate noise level typically present in the work environment.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- 1-5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in the water and/or wastewater treatment sector.
- 1-3 years of vocational training in a related field is advantageous.
A combination of education and practical experience in a suitable environment may be considered equivalent to the stated qualifications related to water/wastewater operations and maintenance.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in operating heavy machinery, boom trucks, power tools, compressors, and electric generators.
- In-depth knowledge of water and wastewater treatment facilities and their operations.
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Understanding of safety codes, devices, and procedures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of hazardous material handling, storage, and usage.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with colleagues and supervisors.
Certifications and Licenses:
Possession of a valid driver's license is required (CDL preferred).
Physical Requirements:
The role necessitates regular communication, with frequent standing, walking, climbing, and manual dexterity required. Employees may occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds. Vision capabilities include the ability to distinguish colors and perceive both close and distant objects.
