Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and perform various chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic testing in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to quality control guidelines.
  • Evaluate reports and review all sample data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease, ensuring timely and accurate results.
  • Evaluate sample/data for specimen integrity, validity of results, instrument functions, reagent reactivity, and investigate any discrepancies, documenting resolution as needed.
  • Utilize computer systems for order communication functions at all levels, ensuring seamless communication and data management.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate inventory levels, ensuring that all necessary supplies and materials are available when needed.
  • Execute and document quality control programs and proficiency testing, interpreting results and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Orient and instruct new employees and medical laboratory students, providing guidance and training to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Maintain knowledge and skills through continuing education programs, staying up-to-date on the latest techniques and technologies.
  • Perform immediate need disciplinary and preventive maintenance on various analyzers in designated areas, resolving any problems that may arise.
  • Observe and comply with all safety guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Perform all duties in a high-touch manner, enhancing the image of Mississippi Employer and providing exceptional customer service.

Education/Regulatory Requirements:

  • Graduate of a CLT or MLT program and/or Certified or Associate Degree in CLT or MLT.
