GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE
The Chanel Beauty Specialist is tasked with optimizing sales for the Chanel line (encompassing color cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance) by engaging with customers to assess their unique preferences, guiding them in their selections, and upholding the store's standards of cleanliness and inventory management.
This role embodies the essence, offerings, and ethos of Ulta Beauty and the Chanel brand, collaborating closely with the Experience Manager to enhance performance (in terms of service, retail sales, and in-store events), foster a positive culture (guest service and team dynamics), and adhere to operational protocols (procedures and compliance).
A genuine passion for the beauty sector, outstanding customer service skills, and the ability to learn and convey product knowledge are essential for this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Performance
Achieve or surpass sales and client engagement targets for the Chanel brand while contributing to the overall store objectives related to retail and service sales, customer loyalty, and omni-channel sales as established by Ulta Beauty.
Drive business growth by meeting sales goals, utilizing various strategies such as product services and data collection to enhance customer loyalty, attract new clientele, and increase return rates through strong relationship building.
Ensure each customer receives exceptional service by welcoming and engaging them, tailoring the experience to their needs, offering samples, and suggesting complementary products and services.
Conduct makeup applications, skincare assessments, and product demonstrations for customers.
Enhance business opportunities by showcasing and executing exclusive Chanel services.
Schedule appointments and assist in executing services and in-store events that deliver an unparalleled customer experience while achieving sales objectives for both the Chanel brand and the store.
Stay informed and actively participate in promotions and marketing initiatives across all categories and departments within the Ulta Beauty store.
Utilize the clientele management system provided by Chanel to gather customer information; consistently follow up with customers post-purchase to build loyalty and expand the business.
Proactively keep abreast of new and existing industry trends, products, and services during work hours, and be knowledgeable about their ingredients and benefits to better assist customers.
People
Foster an inclusive atmosphere that supports colleagues, peers, and the internal and external customers served.
Build and maintain strong relationships with every customer daily through the Chanel service protocol to cultivate a customer list for Chanel brand sales.
Communicate the advantages of the customer loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, to customers on the sales floor.
Maintain robust relationships with Chanel brand partners through participation in required training and execution of in-store events and promotions.
Collaborate with managers and associates throughout the store to contribute to business growth.
Attend seasonal seminars hosted by brand partners and engage in ongoing training, including brand and category education, to support continuous professional development and drive Chanel brand sales performance.
Process
Be knowledgeable of and ensure adherence to Ulta Beauty's policies, procedures, and standards.
Understand the opportunities related to Chanel products within Ulta Beauty.
Exemplify brand image and expectations by following the Ulta Beauty and Chanel brand dress code, including wearing brand assets as directed.
Drive sales by maintaining assigned work areas, ensuring they are stocked, organized, and compliant with hygiene standards.
Uphold exceptional operational standards within the store, including the cleanliness of the Chanel brand area and any additional assigned spaces, such as the sales floor, restrooms, cash wrap, backroom, and break area.
Safeguard company assets by adhering to loss prevention best practices while delivering outstanding customer service.
Execute other operational tasks as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma preferred
Cosmetology or demonstrator license where required by state law
Experience
Preferred experience in cosmetics artistry
Skills
Proven competency in sales, products, and service
Ability to cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships
Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Ability to effectively manage customer concerns and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Flexible scheduling required, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Participation in brand-sponsored training sessions
WORKING CONDITIONS
Frequent mobility during shifts
Regular standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting during shifts
Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs. during shifts

The pay range for this position is $25.50 / Hour. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business needs.
