As a Lube Service Technician, your primary duties will include:

  • Conducting thorough inspections to ensure all systems and components are secure and functioning correctly.
  • Identifying and isolating any systems or components that may have caused issues.
  • Performing test drives to assess vehicle performance and checking fluid levels, refilling as necessary.
  • Maintaining proper tire pressure and cleaning and lubricating fittings as required.
  • Installing new oil drain plugs and oil filters while effectively communicating oil levels to team members.
  • Ensuring efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
  • Proactively repairing or replacing worn parts to prevent breakdowns or damage.
  • Utilizing power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to complete various tasks.
Automotive Dealership Lube Technician Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A comprehensive understanding of automobiles along with rapid diagnostic skills.
  • Strong analytical and communication abilities with a desire for continuous improvement.
  • The capability to learn new technologies, repair methods, and specifications.
  • Experience operating electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • A High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • ASE Certification or Technical degree (preferred).
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a service department.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
