About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Molding Operator Technician to join our team at Kelly Services. As a Molding Operator Technician, you will be responsible for operating molding machines and performing quality checks to ensure the production of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate molding machines and perform quality checks to ensure product quality
  • Measure, examine, and test molded part units to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance conditions
  • Adjust machines or fixtures as necessary to optimize production
  • Document mold change and machine adjustments, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance
  • Install and remove molds and mold tools
  • Maintain mold and equipment through a detailed PM Program
  • Ensure a clean and organized environment
  • Collaborate with production personnel to meet requirements and make adjustments as needed
  • Provide molded components in a timely manner to meet production schedules
  • Generate documentation for traceability and reproducibility
  • Work with quality and manufacturing departments to ensure quality and meet company standards
  • Coordinate repairs with the mold shop as needed
  • Set up and water molds, robots, and other equipment
  • Conduct first piece inspections and perform advanced mold/press maintenance
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and identify root cause
  • Drive continuous improvement strategies and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Train other team members as needed
Requirements
  • Basic shop math and computer skills
  • Basic machine troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve mechanical issues
  • Ability to work independently and be proactive
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and report data based on machine performance
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED (preferred)
  • Eager to learn, grow, and adapt to changing business needs
  • Willingness to assist other cross-functional groups
