We are seeking a skilled Molding Operator Technician to join our team at Kelly Services. As a Molding Operator Technician, you will be responsible for operating molding machines and performing quality checks to ensure the production of high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities- Operate molding machines and perform quality checks to ensure product quality
- Measure, examine, and test molded part units to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance conditions
- Adjust machines or fixtures as necessary to optimize production
- Document mold change and machine adjustments, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance
- Install and remove molds and mold tools
- Maintain mold and equipment through a detailed PM Program
- Ensure a clean and organized environment
- Collaborate with production personnel to meet requirements and make adjustments as needed
- Provide molded components in a timely manner to meet production schedules
- Generate documentation for traceability and reproducibility
- Work with quality and manufacturing departments to ensure quality and meet company standards
- Coordinate repairs with the mold shop as needed
- Set up and water molds, robots, and other equipment
- Conduct first piece inspections and perform advanced mold/press maintenance
- Troubleshoot machine issues and identify root cause
- Drive continuous improvement strategies and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Train other team members as needed
- Basic shop math and computer skills
- Basic machine troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve mechanical issues
- Ability to work independently and be proactive
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and report data based on machine performance
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Eager to learn, grow, and adapt to changing business needs
- Willingness to assist other cross-functional groups
