Moss is seeking a highly skilled Solar Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of solar energy projects from pre-construction to closeout.
Key Responsibilities- Manage preconstruction services, including reviewing owner expectations and criteria, and coordinating with design teams and owners.
- Negotiate owner contracts, establish programs to comply with MBE requirements, and review design documents.
- Identify key subcontractors, promote partnering sessions, and investigate sites to identify long-lead items.
- Develop bid packages, schedules, and site utilization plans, and conduct pre-bid conferences.
- Manage project financials, including developing GMP or Lump Sum contracts, and maintaining continuous knowledge of jobsite expenditures.
- Analyze financial ability of subcontractors, prepare revenue projections, and manage cash flow.
- Develop and maintain financial reports, set up project schedules of values, and prepare and process monthly owner requisitions.
- Manage change order processes, assist in loss-control management, administer owner purchase programs, and enforce company bonding and insurance policies.
- Study owner contracts, develop scopes of work, review budgets and scopes with estimating, and develop purchasing schedules.
- Prepare and distribute detailed project schedules, prepare resource-loaded schedules, and develop look-ahead schedules.
- Recruit jobsite staff, enforce company policies, provide professional development of staff, conduct evaluations, and promote employee morale.
- Administer document control RFI processes, prepare monthly reports, implement and report MBE programs, develop and implement crisis management plans, and maintain project management computer systems.
- Manage field operations, conduct trade preconstruction meetings, coordinate subs, vendors, and permit inspections, and maintain sub relationships.
- Implement safety and QC programs, manage daily clean-up and rental equipment, perform daily jobsite walks, and promote client relations.
- Manage project closeout and post-construction services, obtain and deliver warranties, transfer attic stock, demobilize field operations, collect final payments, and close out subcontracts.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 4+ years of experience as a Project Manager within the Solar/EPC construction industry.
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity with construction project management applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, required to interface directly with owners' representatives, A/E teams, building departments, and other team members.
- Strong leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and building and maintaining motivated teams.
- Highly developed project management finance skills.
