Job Summary

The Shred-it Route Driver CDL A is a critical role within Stericycle Inc., responsible for providing exceptional service to assigned locations and transfer stations/accounts. This position requires a skilled driver with a Commercial Driver's License A (CDL A) to safely transport shredded confidential material from a Shred-it location to a transfer location or processing facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned routes to ensure customer shredded confidential material is transferred in a safe, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Provide top-notch customer service to assigned accounts, communicating any issues to the Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher for resolution.
  • Perform pre/post-trip checks and driver check-in on assigned truck, prior to leaving or closing for the day, and report maintenance issues to the Transportation/Dispatcher.
  • Operate company equipment in a safe and efficient manner to minimize the risk of injury and equipment damage.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal laws governing driver fitness and hours of service, and complete and maintain DOT logs when applicable.
  • Perform onsite/offsite document destruction of confidential information and maintain a high level of security when emptying consoles and/or collection totes.
  • Manage assigned routes to ensure customers' confidential material is collected and serviced in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Handle and respond to all customer problems and inquiries expeditiously and in the best interest of both the customer and Stericycle.
Requirements
  • Commercial Driver's License A (CDL A)
  • 1 or more years of current experience, preferably in driving Tractor Trailer GVW 80K lbs. and able to pull a towed weight exceeding 10,000 lbs.
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records as required by federal regulation.
