Job Title: Press Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled Press Machine Operator to join our team at Stevens Industries, Inc. As a Press Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various types of press machines, including hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic presses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and instructions to determine the type, size, and shape of materials to be processed.
  • Adjust machine settings, such as pressure, speed, and temperature, according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Load and unload materials onto the machine, using hoists, cranes, or other lifting devices.
  • Monitor machine operation and inspect finished products for defects, such as cracks, burrs, or warping.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the machine, such as lubricating, cleaning, and replacing worn parts.
  • Follow safety rules and regulations, such as wearing protective equipment, reporting accidents, and disposing of waste properly.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of basic principles and techniques of operating different types of press machines.
  • Skill in setting up, adjusting, operating, and maintaining press machines according to specifications, instructions, and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, work orders, and quality control documents.
  • Ability to use measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and rulers, to ensure accuracy and precision of products.
  • Ability to inspect and test products for defects, damages, or deviations from specifications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor problems with press machines or products.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, under pressure, and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and customers.
