Position Summary and Qualifications
The Critical Care Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental standards and requirements. This care aligns with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical professionals, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care.
We utilize established nursing frameworks such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The RN acts as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers.

- Assess patient conditions upon admission and throughout each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in status.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients for therapeutic responses, intervening as necessary in case of adverse reactions.- Conduct thorough patient evaluations prior to procedures, including reviewing medical history and diagnostic tests, as well as performing physical and psychological assessments.
- Ensure that patients, families, and caregivers understand the procedure and the peri-operative process, obtaining and witnessing consent forms.- Engage in evidence-based practices that enhance the patient experience, including safety rounding, effective communication, and patient education techniques.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, ensuring clarity in interactions with patients, physicians, and colleagues, and escalate care concerns as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Florida Registered Nurse license in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If holding a compact license, an active Florida RN license is required within 90 days of hire.
- Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
- Previous experience in an acute care environment is strongly preferred.
- Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
- American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer.
- Current NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification is required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
- Strong critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication skills, along with the ability to comprehend written instructions and follow verbal directions, are essential.
