Shelter Operations Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced Community Support Specialist to join our team at the Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI). In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our program participants, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded. This is a full-time position that requires excellent communication skills, empathy, and a commitment to serving vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized support to program participants, addressing their concerns and needs in a timely and respectful manner.
- Develop and implement individualized plans to meet the unique needs of each participant, collaborating with other staff members as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of participant interactions, using your organizational skills to ensure seamless data management.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date on best practices in housing and social services.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery, addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field, or equivalent experience working with vulnerable populations.
- At least one year of experience in a similar role, preferably in a non-profit organization or government agency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong empathy and active listening skills, with the ability to understand and respond to the unique needs of each participant.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary range: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour, based on experience.
