Job Summary

The Nord Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team on a PRN/as needed basis. As a Staff Pharmacist, you will be responsible for providing oversight of pharmacy operations and supervision of pharmacy technicians and clerical staff when the Director of the Pharmacy is off duty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Dispensing: Ensure timely and accurate dispensing of medications in accordance with prescribing physician's orders, while detecting any therapeutic incompatibilities.
  • Pharmacy Operations: Follow standard pharmacy operation processes and comply with DEA, State Pharmacy Board, and Food and Drug Administration rules and regulations.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise the work results of support personnel and provide guidance and training as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain appropriate inventory levels based on economic order activity and ensure the removal of outdated and damaged drugs from the Pharmacy inventory.
  • Financial Management: Daily balancing of cash register and accounts receivable.
  • Customer Service: Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications for storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Comply with all state and federal drug laws as regulated by the State Pharmacy Board, the DEA, and the Food and Drug Administration.
Requirements
  • Currently licensed by the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
  • Over 2 years of experience in retail and/or hospital pharmacy operations.
  • Strong oral and written skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with high-volume pharmacy computer systems.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed and/or trauma-specific services.
