Job Summary

Raytheon is seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead new product development within the Electronic Warfare Mechanical Design Hardware Department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, integrating, verifying, and producing digital processor and RF receiver subsystems for airborne platforms.

This role requires a strong technical background in mechanical engineering, with experience in designing RF systems for challenging thermal and high vibration environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead programs as a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) or Integrated Product Team Lead (ITPL)
  • Design and develop mechanical systems for electronic warfare applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electronic components
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and test procedures
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders to ensure program success
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5 years of experience in mechanical design and development, with a focus on electronic warfare applications
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME drawing and documentation standards
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design tools, including CREO and similar modeling software
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with EW/Radar Systems or RF Products
  • Experience with Conformal Antenna Array Packaging
  • Experience with managing budget and schedule (Earned Value Management (EVM))
  • Previous experience with design reviews and proposal development
