Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Director of Institutional Research, Assessment, and Analytics to lead our Office of Assessment and Institutional Research. This key role will be responsible for reporting data to state and federal agencies, maintaining a comprehensive survey research program, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies to inform institutional decision-making
  • Lead the development and maintenance of a comprehensive survey research program
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, particularly those related to assessment of student learning
  • Collaborate with senior executives and key leaders to achieve strategic objectives
  • Provide timely and accurate data submissions to state and federal agencies
  • Compile and disseminate the Institute's fact book
  • Coordinate and submit US News data
  • Facilitate and communicate requirements for compliance with SACSCOC standards
  • Consult and recommend strategies for achieving compliance with ABET and AACSB
  • Submit data reports to the National Collegiate Athletic Association on behalf of Intercollegiate Athletics
Requirements
  • Masters degree in a relevant discipline
  • Experience coordinating higher education assessment and evaluation
  • Ability to collaborate in developing methods and criteria for assessment and evaluation
  • Superior interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences
  • Ability to adapt easily to changing priorities
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in a relevant discipline
  • Experience managing, developing, and evaluating personnel
  • Experience in higher education leading an office of institutional effectiveness
  • Demonstrated interest in broadening and deepening expertise in higher education institutional research, evaluation, and learning outcomes assessment
