Position Overview:

Support the daily logistics operations of a multi-temperature, technology-driven facility with an emphasis on safety and operational efficiency.

People or Process Responsibility: Yes

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Implement company processes effectively to achieve 100% compliance.
  • Meet or exceed annual performance objectives, including on-time dispatches, off-load rates, labor costs, and product loss and damage.
  • Contribute to budget development.
  • Assist in formulating and executing the daily operational plan, including equipment maintenance and driver scheduling to fulfill customer delivery requirements.
  • Promote a workplace culture that enhances employee involvement, morale, and engagement.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for drivers and support staff.
  • Oversee food safety practices in alignment with company and customer standards.
  • Ensure adherence to company, state, federal, and local policies, regulations, DOT requirements, and safety/health standards.
  • Collaborate with the Transportation Manager to oversee route planning and bid package preparation.
  • Address and resolve issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Engage in and potentially lead various committees focused on quality and safety.
  • Work with Human Resources to maintain appropriate staffing levels and address employee concerns effectively.
  • Champion change initiatives.
  • Perform any other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of relevant leadership experience.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined team player.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Creative problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated urgency and focus on results.
  • Solid business and financial understanding.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Ability to anticipate business needs and respond proactively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel skills.
  • Experience with supply chain information systems, such as ATA, Paragon, and JD Edwards.
  • Willingness to work any shift and schedule due to the 24/7 nature of the operation.
  • Must pass post-offer background check and drug screening.

Preferred Experience:

  • College degree preferred.
  • Experience in food distribution is advantageous.
