Position Overview:
Exciting developments are underway at the T. Marzetti Horse Cave Campus. As we advance towards achieving operational excellence, we are seeking dedicated team members who are eager to grow with us. The role of Production Operations Leader is pivotal in overseeing, managing, and coordinating production and packaging activities while collaborating with employees and various departments during the designated shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Functions:

- Collaborate respectfully with all team members to ensure the safety, quality, and production of our products and objectives daily.
- Engage actively in Marzetti's Operational Excellence initiatives, special projects, and modification programs as necessary.
- Participate in department meetings, contributing to improvement discussions and follow-ups.
Safety Standards:
- Uphold the highest safety standards across all functions, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Conduct daily inspections of personal protective equipment (PPE) to guarantee optimal safety conditions.
- Achieve and maintain Lock Out-Tag Out Certification for machinery, adhering to safety protocols.
- Complete Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBSO) and engage in problem-solving activities.
Quality Assurance:
- Commit to delivering exceptional food quality and service, ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards.
- Conduct Behavior Based Quality observations (BBQs) and address any identified issues.
- Communicate product safety and quality concerns to management or through confidential channels as needed.
Operational Leadership:
- Inspire and guide supervisors on the designated shift.
- Meet established objectives related to plant operations while minimizing labor and maintenance costs.
- Coordinate with HR for workforce hiring, training, and scheduling.
- Ensure accurate and timely production reporting.
- Maintain strong relationships with all departments and respond promptly to any deviations from standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business management or a related field is preferred.
- 5-7 years of operational and leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the food industry.
- Ability to adapt to flexible hours and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Proficient in manufacturing processes, staffing, scheduling, and budget management.
- Demonstrated leadership in Continuous Improvement initiatives is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Working Conditions:
- Oversee the overall direction and results of the plant during designated shifts.
- Manage department supervisors and their teams effectively.
- Physical requirements include lifting up to 75 pounds and standing for extended periods.
- Compliance with safety gear and protocols is mandatory.
