Key Responsibilities

1. Maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

2. Operate a Class A tractor-trailer on designated routes across various states.

3. Possess a thorough understanding of safety and regulatory requirements for operating commercial vehicles.

4. Communicate effectively with shippers and consignees, ensuring they feel valued as customers.

5. Lift up to 50 lbs, and navigate in and out of truck cabs and trailers while standing or sitting for extended periods.

6. Operate equipment such as lift gates, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.

7. Efficiently offload trailers for multiple deliveries using specialized tools and equipment.

Requirements

1. Safety and Compliance

  • Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations, adhering to them consistently.
  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or equipment issues to Dispatch immediately.

2. Customer Interaction

  • Communicate effectively with customers as needed.
  • Resolve issues promptly or seek assistance from Dispatch Operations.

3. Fleet Operations

  • Read and comprehend work instructions from dispatch.
  • Utilize electronic communication tools, including in-cab communication and e-logs.
  • Understand regional geography and make efficient travel route decisions.

4. Maintenance Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting findings to Dispatch or Maintenance teams.

5. Quality Assurance

  • Ensure timely pickup and delivery of assigned loads.
  • Communicate any potential delays in scheduled delivery times to Dispatch.
  • Report any service discrepancies to Dispatch immediately.

6. Proactive Initiative

  • Notify Dispatch when loads are completed and ready for the next assignment.
  • Communicate with Dispatch before the end of the day regarding any additional requirements.
  • Adhere to the schedule throughout the day, taking necessary breaks without excessive downtime.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements in all areas of responsibility.
