Job Summary

As a key member of our team at Bickford Senior Living, the Activities Coordinator will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging activities for our residents. This role requires a passion for creating a positive and inclusive environment that promotes socialization, physical activity, and mental stimulation.

Responsibilities

* Plan and implement activities in various categories, including physical exercise, social events, recreational activities, intellectual/educational programs, creative pursuits, and entertainment events.
* Conduct and lead activities as needed, ensuring a high level of resident engagement and satisfaction.
* Develop activities that cater to residents' lifestyle choices and preferences.
* Invite and remind residents to participate in planned activities, promoting a sense of community and social connection.
* Chaperone activities outside the community, ensuring resident safety and well-being.
* Operate a Bickford vehicle to transport residents to activities, as needed.
* Train, support, and instruct other team members to conduct activities, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
* Develop a monthly activity calendar that incorporates activities 7 days a week, including evening and weekend events.
* Plan, coordinate, and implement decorations for special events, seasons, and holidays, enhancing the overall resident experience.
* Coordinate food needs for scheduled activities with the kitchen, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for residents.

Qualifications

* High-school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in recreation or a related field preferred.
* Certification in Assisted Living Activities is preferred but required.
* Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel), with the ability to learn new applications.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with residents, staff, and external partners.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
* A valid driver's license and a driving record consistent with Bickford's insurance carrier guidelines.
