Position Summary
The Senior Mixologist will oversee bar operations to ensure that all beverage recipes, techniques, and service standards align with our high expectations and enhance guest satisfaction. This role will lead the education and training of the bar staff, ensuring that innovative and delightful beverages are consistently crafted while delivering an exceptional dining experience characterized by outstanding service in a welcoming and professional manner. The Senior Mixologist will be responsible for responsible alcohol service, managing beverage orders from guests and staff alike. Adherence to recipes, procedures, and presentation standards is essential to guarantee the highest quality product. Collaboration with the bar team is key to exceeding guest expectations and creating extraordinary dining moments.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary trainer for bartenders and barbacks, providing ongoing education in line with our training protocols.
- Act as the go-to resource for bartenders regarding cocktail preparation and techniques.
- Conduct thorough inspections of bar areas prior to service to ensure cleanliness and readiness.
- Implement quality control measures for all ingredients and monitor the proficiency of the bar team.
- Oversee the quality of cocktail recipes and standard pours across the bar.
- Ensure daily requisitions for alcoholic and non-alcoholic products are completed.
- Maintain updated prep lists and communicate needs with the Beverage Manager.
- Assist in inventory management and organization of storage areas.
- Gain proficiency in operating culinary equipment and understanding ingredients and techniques for cocktail preparation.
- Collaborate with the Beverage Manager to revise opening and closing side work.
- Serve as the point of contact for events requiring cocktail service.
- Coordinate bar deep cleaning schedules with the Beverage Manager.
- Develop new cocktail offerings in partnership with the Beverage Manager.
- Communicate regularly with the Beverage Manager regarding staff training and drink implementation.
- Encourage ongoing education for self and team members.
- Verify the age of guests who appear under 30 to comply with alcohol service regulations.
- Proactively manage potential issues related to excessive drinking by communicating with management and assisting guests as needed.
- Take beverage orders and serve drinks following established service standards.
- Engage with guests promptly to introduce the dining concept and menu offerings.
- Effectively describe menu items, including preparation methods and ingredients.
- Utilize suggestive selling techniques for beverages and specials.
- Ensure accurate order entry in the POS system and timely delivery of items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of beverage storage areas.
- Perform additional duties as required, including special guest requests and supporting team members.
- Proficient in English to facilitate effective communication.
- Understanding of proper table settings and service ware.
- Comprehensive knowledge of menu items and service protocols.
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment and remain composed under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivated, and well-organized.
- Position requires standing or walking for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 lbs. as needed.
- Manual dexterity to operate necessary equipment.
