Job Summary

Under the supervision of a Habilitation Specialist, the Direct Support Professional will assist individuals with daily living tasks, provide physical and programmatic support, and participate in community outings. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of others and be part of a dynamic team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide physical and programmatic support to individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as toileting and feeding
  • Participate in community outings and activities
  • Assist with supervision of individuals in assigned areas
  • Perform clerical work, such as data collection and case note writing
  • Participate in interdisciplinary planning and case conferences
Requirements
  • Valid New York State Driver's License
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with coworkers, employees, and individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Ability to analyze problems and determine corrective measures
