Job Overview

Position Summary

The Lead Therapy Facilitator at BY YOUR SIDE-Autism Therapy Services is tasked with executing and advancing educational programs within a therapeutic classroom environment on a weekly basis. This role involves the implementation of curricula, skill development initiatives, and behavioral management strategies under the guidance of the Manager – BYS Academy, in partnership with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA).

The Lead Therapy Facilitator is also accountable for organizing and assigning routine preparations to guarantee that resources are ready and activities are set up appropriately (e.g., circle time, thematic play, reading sessions, crafts, physical activities, etc.).

In addition to classroom facilitation, the Lead Therapy Facilitator will serve as a supervisor within the therapeutic setting. They will lead group activities, ensure data collection, adhere to established guidelines, and oversee individual sessions.

When not actively facilitating in the therapeutic classroom, the Lead Therapy Facilitator will function as a Behavior Technician (BT). The BT role involves delivering ABA Therapy to children aged 2-21 in both center-based and home settings. The Behavior Technician will execute skill acquisition programs and behavioral management protocols under the supervision of a BCBA.

The Lead Therapy Facilitator/BT operates within a professional clinical framework. The position may require lifting and/or moving items weighing up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to ABA Therapy standards to uphold BY YOUR SIDE's commitment to high-quality care for clients and families.
  • Directly implement and enhance educational programs in the therapeutic classroom.
  • Collaborate with the Manager – BYS Academy monthly for project planning, resource management, and training needs.
  • Oversee and delegate preparation tasks to ensure that materials are accessible and activities are appropriately arranged.
  • Act as a therapeutic classroom supervisor, leading group sessions, ensuring data collection, and supervising individual time.
  • Provide individualized therapy to clients in accordance with treatment plans under the direction of a BCBA.
  • Implement ABA programs as directed by the BCBA, following established procedures and plans.
  • Conduct routine assessments as instructed by the BCBA, ensuring proper training and administration.
  • Maintain order and safety within the therapy environment.
  • Apply behavior management techniques as directed by the BCBA.
  • Assist colleagues with related tasks to support the overall functioning of the therapy center.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
  • Complete daily operational tasks within the center, including opening/closing procedures and material organization.
  • Collect data and document clinical notes at the conclusion of each session.
  • Maintain timely and professional documentation of clinical notes and therapy hours.
  • Perform essential duties satisfactorily, demonstrating the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Adhere to BYS core principles, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or enrollment in psychology, communication disorders, education, or a related field preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in conducting ABA Therapy or as a paraprofessional educator.
  • Strong interest in working with children on the autism spectrum.
  • Ability to uphold quality, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Familiarity with sensory and behavioral strategies is preferred.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and deliver high-quality work.
  • Quick learner with proficiency in technology.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
