Position Summary
The Lead Therapy Facilitator at BY YOUR SIDE-Autism Therapy Services is tasked with the implementation and advancement of educational programs within a therapeutic classroom environment on a weekly basis. This role involves executing curriculum, skill development initiatives, and behavior management strategies under the guidance of the Manager – BYS Academy, while collaborating closely with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA).
The Lead Therapy Facilitator is also accountable for overseeing routine preparations and ensuring that all necessary materials are ready and activities are appropriately organized (e.g., circle time, thematic play, reading sessions, crafts, physical activities, etc.).
In addition to classroom facilitation, the Lead Therapy Facilitator will assume the responsibilities of a Behavior Technician (BT). The BT role involves delivering ABA Therapy to children aged 2-21 in both center-based and home settings. The ABA Therapist will carry out skill acquisition programs and behavior management techniques under the supervision of a BCBA.
The BT will also be responsible for collecting data on target behaviors during therapy sessions. The Lead Therapy Facilitator is expected to provide comprehensive ABA Therapy for clients of BY YOUR SIDE under the direction of the BCBA.
This position operates within a professional and clinical setting. The role may require lifting and/or moving items weighing up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to high standards of ABA Therapy to maintain the quality of care for clients and their families.
- Directly implement and advance educational programs in the therapeutic classroom.
- Collaborate with the Manager – BYS Academy for project planning, resource acquisition, and training needs.
- Oversee and assign routine preparations to ensure that all materials are ready and activities are properly set up.
- Supervise the therapeutic classroom, leading the group, ensuring data collection, and maintaining guidelines during 1:1 sessions.
- Provide individualized therapy to clients in accordance with treatment plans under the direction of the BCBA.
- Implement ABA programs as directed by the BCBA, following established procedures and plans.
- Conduct routine assessments as instructed by the BCBA, ensuring proper training for test administration.
- Maintain order and safety within the therapy environment.
- Apply behavior management techniques as directed by the BCBA.
- Assist colleagues with related tasks to support their work and enhance daily operations.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional knowledge.
- Complete daily operational tasks within the center, including opening/closing procedures and material organization.
- Collect data and document therapy sessions accurately.
- Maintain timely and professional documentation of clinical notes and therapy hours.
- Perform all essential duties satisfactorily, adhering to BYS core principles and policies.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree or enrollment in psychology, communication disorders, education, or a related field preferred.
- At least one year of experience in conducting ABA Therapy or working as a paraprofessional.
- Strong interest in working with children on the autism spectrum.
- Ability to uphold quality, safety, and infection control standards.
- Familiarity with sensory and behavioral strategies is preferred.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Quick learner with proficiency in technology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
