Nurse Residency Program in Cayuga Health System

As a nurse in this program, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced professionals who are dedicated to delivering the highest level of care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients and families, recognizing normal parameters, deviations, and abnormalities in physical, emotional, developmental, and behavioral status.
- Use a person-centered care approach to develop care plans and prioritize nursing care to meet patient and family needs.
- Plan for care of patients, demonstrating the ability to effectively prioritize both expected and unanticipated needs.
- Involves patients and families in establishing care goals.
- Demonstrates competence in the implementation of technical skills required for the care of patients and families.
- Acts as a resource to peers.
Requirements:
- Active New York Nursing license (out-of-state nurses are still eligible to apply).
- Associates Degree in Nursing.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications (new hires have the opportunity to obtain these certifications during the introductory period).
Physical Requirements:
Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, IV solutions, and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves, and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.

Pay Range Disclosure:
$38.63 per hour.
