Preschool Case Manager

Wake County Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Preschool Case Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the work of a Preschool Referral and Assessment Team and serving as a Local Education Agency (LEA) representative in Preschool Special Education meetings.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a Preschool Special Education Assessment Team and schedule weekly team meetings as needed.
- Review referral information and collaborate with parents and referring agencies to obtain additional information.
- Serve as a LEA representative in meetings for children on the team's caseload and other children going through the referral process.
- Ensure procedural guidelines are followed and that parents are informed of their rights.
- Maintain communications with parents during the referral/evaluation process and secure interpreters as needed.
- Maintain caseload information and provide data upon request, striving to meet compliance as stated in Federal Indicators.
- Coordinate and schedule referrals, evaluations, eligibility, and initial IEP meetings, ensuring all details are in order.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a closely related field.
- Five years of successful pre-kindergarten teaching experience.
- Experience with the referral to placement process in determining eligibility for special education.
- Experience working with varying cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Experience with Transdisciplinary Play-Based Assessment.
- Master's degree in Special Education or a related service field.
- Birth-Kindergarten North Carolina Professional Educator's License.
