Position Overview:
Our client, a distinguished AmLaw law firm, is in search of a skilled Patent Administrator to enhance their intellectual property division. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in U.S. patent filing processes and the capability to independently oversee patent portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage patent prosecution workflows, including the preparation and submission of documents to the USPTO
- Engage directly with clients and attorneys, delivering exceptional service and support throughout the patent process
- Maintain and update patent dockets, ensuring adherence to all deadlines and regulatory requirements
- Draft and review patent-related communications, including emails, memos, and official documents
- Assist in the creation of Information Disclosure Statements (IDS) and other complex filings
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient workflow and timely service delivery
- Maintain precise electronic and physical patent records
- Prepare materials for client meetings and presentations
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in U.S. patent filing and portfolio management
- In-depth knowledge of USPTO guidelines and procedures
- Familiarity with PTO platforms (e.g., EFS, PAIR, EPAS) and docketing systems
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of international patent filing processes
- Knowledge of patent regulations across various jurisdictions
