Supply Chain Operations Leader

- Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily activities for shipping, receiving, and inventory management, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Administer the annual physical inventory count process, reconcile variances, and implement improvements to ensure accuracy.
- Manage inventory supervisors to optimize personnel productivity, teamwork, and organization within the warehouse.
- Develop and implement process improvements, including layout optimization and storage area design, to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Oversee the care and preservation of inventory, utilizing best practices and equipment to minimize damage and loss.
- Coordinate the distribution of parts to assembly departments based on production schedules and retrieve parts from inventory, stage, inspect, pack, and ship to customers.
- Collaborate with product lines to distribute parts efficiently, ensuring timely delivery and proper staging for assembly.
- Work closely with the Production Department to promptly return unused parts to inventory.
- Partner with the Supply Chain Director to evaluate system data on disposition of non-usable, slow-moving, and excess inventories.
- Contribute to the improvement of inventory availability, integrity, and accuracy, particularly through automatic replenishment using minimum-maximum skills.
- Provide overall direction to expedite customer needs after hours.
- Work with the Supply Chain Director, Planning, Purchasing, and Inventory teams to establish work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflows.
- Lead the Continuous Improvement Function, coordinating initiatives to reduce waste and costs, improve profitability, and develop project teams as needed.
- Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators related to Inventory Control and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Share best practices throughout the organization.
- Lead the inventory control team and directly supervise Inventory Control Supervisors who supervise Storekeepers and Leads.
- Supervise personnel in the Continuous Improvement Function.
- Interview, hire, and train employees.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Five years of supervisory experience in inventory or warehouse management in a manufacturing environment for capital equipment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with implementing lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma.
- Experience in materials planning and enterprise resource planning systems (SAP P82 S/4 HANA preferred).
- APICS certification preferred, with the ability to obtain certification within a reasonable period.
