Key Responsibilities

As a Landscape Technician with East Coast Facilities, Inc. - Scranton Service Center, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical work tasks assigned to you are completed safely, efficiently, and with quality. You will work under the direction of a Crew Leader and may receive direction or training from a Production Manager or Field Supervisor.

Client Management
  • Represent East Coast Facilities, Inc. - Scranton Service Center in a professional manner at all times.
  • Recognize when you do not have the answer for a client and escalate the issue to the Crew Leader or Production Manager.
  • Maintain open communication with clients and keep the Crew Leader informed of all client concerns and communication on the job site.
  • Develop and maintain a positive, responsive, and flexible attitude towards all clients.
Safety Management
  • Maintain and promote safe working conditions in the field at all times.
  • Follow company procedures for discipline if any safety rules are broken.
  • Achieve zero preventable accidents.
Image Compliance
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and professional image through the use of approved uniforms and by monitoring and maintaining proper employee actions.
Equipment Management
  • Be accountable for the neglect and abuse of assigned equipment.
General Qualifications
  • Pass an illicit drug test.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Comply with business ethics, applicable laws, and regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Operate various types of equipment and machinery associated with this job description.
  • Have a minimum two-year apprenticeship in one or more of the following job sub-categories:
    • Professional landscape maintenance operations.
    • Professional landscape construction services.
    • Landscape repairs, restoration, and remediation.
    • Licensed arbor care and tree trimming services.
    • Landscape irrigation repairs and maintenance.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
  • Work in or about situations near direct automotive traffic.
  • Work near or about natural bodies of water.
  • Work with various types of work lifts.
  • Be able to work overtime or extended shifts if required by Management.
  • Ability to work in extreme conditions, with working temperatures between 0 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in extreme cold or wintry precipitation.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the day.
Compensation

Each job category has a range of pay associated with it. Hiring managers have corporate guidance on assigning the appropriate rate of pay based on a variety of factors, including:

  1. Years of proven experience for the job you are applying for.
  2. If you qualify and meet our underwriting procedures to drive company vehicles.
  3. Your knowledge and ability to operate equipment classes.
  4. If you have special licensing, such as a CDL, Pesticide Applicators License, Tree Trimming License, ISA Arborist Certification, Lift Certification, etc.
  5. References of direct supervisors impact the rate of pay of new hires.
  6. Hiring managers can rate match a recruited team member from a competitor.
