Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Underwriting Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide administrative support to multiple underwriters, including monitoring email correspondence and completing administrative tasks to expedite the underwriting process.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform underwriting support associated with information gathering and rating of new business, renewals, and mid-term changes.
  • Prepare and process policy binders as instructed by underwriters.
  • Review and provide instruction to the processing department for endorsement requests.
  • Order Loss Control Inspections as instructed by underwriters.
  • Identify renewal solicitation and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Provide instruction to the processing department for new and renewal accounts.
  • Fulfill agency requests for loss runs, copies of policies, and invoicing.
  • Provide customer service support for general questions regarding renewal status, endorsement status, cancellation status, billing inquiries, and commission questions.
  • Work overtime as assigned.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and demands.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 4+ years of experience in the insurance industry.
  • A general knowledge of Commercial Workers Compensation, Property, General Liability, Auto, and Umbrella insurance.
  • Analytical skills to identify, gather, and organize information.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OneNote).
