{"Job Overview": "As a Medical Lab Technician at RWJBarnabas Health, you will play a critical role in processing, performing, and resulting medical diagnostic testing on body fluids. Your work will be done in a timely manner under the supervision of senior technologists, ensuring the highest level of accuracy and quality.

Responsibilities:

* Produce medical diagnostic test results in an efficient and cost-effective manner for stat and routine specimens.
* Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instruments and lab equipment as needed.
* Maintain all necessary QC, QA, and repair records required by accreditation agencies.
* Verify orders from scripts and order procedures in HIS and LIS.
* Assist in clerical duties as needed.
* Assist in the training of new employees and students.
* Segregate laboratory wastes according to established policies.
* Work on special projects as requested by the Director.

Requirements:

* Associate degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution; or high school graduate or equivalent and have successfully completed an official military medical laboratory procedures course and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist.
* MLT certification from ASCP within 8 months of employment or equivalent.
