The Senior Commercial Banking Officer (CBO III) plays a pivotal role in driving high-level commercial business development initiatives tailored for business clients. The CBO III is also tasked with connecting clients to various bank services to fulfill their needs.

The CBO III will assess, analyze, and either approve or recommend customer applications for credit lines, commercial loans, and owner-occupied commercial real estate loans typically exceeding $500,000, focusing on businesses within our operational area. Additionally, the CBO III may occasionally originate non-owner occupied commercial real estate transactions under $5 million and will be responsible for generating commercial deposits. The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Developing and executing personalized business strategies that align with the broader objectives of the region and the Commercial Division.
  • Identifying and nurturing prospects for loan and deposit opportunities using available tools and resources.
  • Creating pre-call strategies to maximize the effectiveness of each client interaction, involving team members as necessary.
  • Conducting interviews with prospects/applicants to gather essential information for loan applications or deposit initiatives.
  • Ensuring that credit and pricing criteria for prospects align with corporate objectives.
  • Collaborating with Credit and Commercial Administration teams to ensure efficient processing of loan applications, enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Working closely with Retail Banking and Wealth Management teams to adopt a relationship-driven approach to customer service.
  • Maintaining accuracy in submissions to the Loan Pipeline Report and updating it as necessary.
  • Striving to meet or exceed established production targets, which typically include generating new loans of at least $13.5 million and new deposits of $2 million or more.
  • Coordinating with legal and Commercial Administration teams to produce all necessary documentation for self-generated loans.
  • Managing all assigned commercial loan relationships, including collection efforts, credit file maintenance, site visits, and loss mitigation.
  • Representing Camden National Bank at various business and community events.
  • Engaging actively with non-profit organizations in leadership or committee roles.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • The CBO III does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

The CBO III should possess:

  • A valid driver's license.
Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree with ten years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents and regulations, as well as write reports and correspondence effectively.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply them to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in word processing, contact management, internet, and spreadsheet software.

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to communicate, stand, walk, and sit, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

Typically moderate noise levels in the work environment.
