Position Overview:
The Senior Electrical Engineer delivers specialized technical knowledge while executing and finalizing designs, engineering schematics, construction, installation, and refurbishment of facilities and equipment within the specified discipline.

This discipline encompasses a wide range of areas including but not limited to heavy industrial machinery, compressors, industrial gases/services, chilled water systems, process water, vacuum systems, air handling units, industrial piping, duct systems, conveyors, dust collection systems, batch processing systems, and other sectors related to glass container production.


Key Responsibilities:


Formulate solutions for Ardagh Glass Packaging facilities to meet customer capacity and quality requirements while ensuring alignment with the Ardagh Group Capital Plan.

Oversee capital projects and collaborate with contractors and fellow Ardagh Group engineers during on-site installations.

Provide support and resolve issues related to control systems, including programming of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and interfacing with systems such as HMI, SCADA, and others as necessary.

Utilize expertise as an Electrical Engineer as part of the Electrical Engineering Center of Excellence team.
Generate conceptual schematics, budgetary project estimates, and submit Capital Approval Requests for management review.
Define project scope, estimate material and labor costs, and prepare competitive bidding documents for equipment and contract services.

Assist in identifying and recommending the purchase, modification, and enhancement of both standard and custom-designed specialty processing equipment with an emphasis on PLC controls.

Engage closely with the plant team during the development of scopes for mechanical engineering projects.
Identify potential bidders, manage the bidding process, and prepare bid packages and equipment specifications.
Assess new processes and equipment to evaluate their benefits to Ardagh Glass Packaging.
Investigate project circumstances and prepare objective definitions.
Prepare calculations, design layouts, and AutoCAD drawings as necessary for project study evaluations and installations.
Offer operational support and troubleshooting for ongoing issues that plant teams cannot resolve.
Participate in or lead root cause analysis for equipment failures.
Document maintenance procedures to ensure proper upkeep of manufacturing equipment.
Collaborate with and support plant maintenance teams regarding preventive and predictive maintenance of mechanical systems.
Educate plant operations and maintenance teams on the operation and troubleshooting of mechanical systems in glass bottle production.
Work closely with the plant team to develop scopes for electrical engineering projects.
Collaborate with and support plant maintenance teams regarding preventive and predictive maintenance of electrical systems.
Train relevant personnel on electrical principles and design best practices, as well as operation and troubleshooting in glass bottle production.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a manufacturing setting, including construction and project management experience.
Significant experience with transformer control wiring, particularly in a manufacturing context.
Extensive experience in the development of power transformer systems or related technologies.

Experience with basic power distribution for 600-volt class systems (motor control centers, distribution panels supplying auxiliary support equipment and lighting, and AC substation transformation).

Knowledge of electrical design and safety standards for industrial machinery - IEC, IEEE, NEMA, CE, UL.
Ability to create and render working drawings for various manufacturing processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in planning and organization.
Detail-oriented with the ability to identify problems and propose solutions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Willingness to travel up to 75%.

Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive experience in the development of power transformer systems or related technologies.
Prior experience with glass container process equipment and production.
Experience with preventive and/or predictive maintenance programs and CMMS.
A servant leader mindset while supporting engineering and plant teams.
