Position Overview:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineering Supervisor within the Foundational Hosting Environments (FHE) team, reporting directly to the Data Center Site Manager overseeing one or more Core/Regional Data Centers.

In this pivotal role, you will assist in managing one or two data centers that house critical business applications and safeguard our most sensitive information. This leadership position involves coaching and providing continuous feedback to multiple Data Center Engineers while being actively engaged in daily operations and project workflows within the data centers. You will also offer guidance to less experienced staff, leading a team of data center engineers responsible for 24/7 operations, managing physical data center hardware, and overseeing Layer 1 cabling modifications.

Your responsibilities will include scheduling installations, decommissions, and troubleshooting hardware and environmental issues that affect data center availability. You must be adept at making calculated decisions that prioritize shareholder interests, crafting and enforcing management policies, standards, and guidelines to protect our invaluable IT assets. Additionally, you will establish, standardize, and implement site-specific operational policies in collaboration with the Corporate Properties Group and other management partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure solutions for business applications.
  • Engage in various projects aimed at continuously enhancing or upgrading the infrastructure.
  • Assess internal and external software solutions to align with target architecture goals.
  • Analyze high-impact outages to ensure proper processes are in place to prevent future issues.
  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain infrastructure solutions through collaboration with team members and third-party vendors.
  • Utilize Agile development practices to design, code, test, debug, and document programs.
  • Make informed decisions regarding technical designs, implementation plans, and project resource requirements.
  • Oversee daily risk and control operations, focusing on policies, procedures, and work standards to ensure success.
  • Recommend strategies to maintain cost-effectiveness and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and meet objectives.
  • Engage with customers and vendors as necessary.
  • Act as a backup to the Site Manager, assuming responsibility for data center management in their absence.
  • Provide oversight for multiple Data Center Engineers while directly influencing daily activities and project workflows.
  • Guide and support experienced staff in managing physical data center hardware and Layer 1 changes.
  • Schedule installations, decommissions, and troubleshoot hardware and environmental events affecting data center availability.
  • Make sound decisions in the absence of detailed instructions while prioritizing shareholder interests.
  • Drive the standardization, automation, and simplification of processes and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions, or equivalent experience through work, training, military service, or education.
  • 5+ years of experience in data center operations.

Desired Skills:

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Understanding of critical site controls, risk management, disciplined data center environments, high availability requirements, and security systems.
  • Knowledge of data center critical facilities systems, including electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.

Job Expectations:

  • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • This position requires onsite presence.
