Director of Corporate Administration

Midwestern Pet Foods is seeking a highly skilled Director of Corporate Administration to join our team in Evansville, IN. As the Director of Corporate Administration, you will be the primary point-of-contact for HR support, employee relations, staffing, payroll, benefits, and other initiatives. This role will report to the VP, Corporate Administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and management, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources Manager to execute strategic initiatives, including employee engagement, employee relations, performance management, staffing, training, and development.
  • Administer HR policies and programs in partnership with supervisors, managers, and other HR staff, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Recommend policies, practices, and programs to meet management and employee needs, promoting a culture of excellence and employee satisfaction.
  • Provide coaching on employee-related issues, such as professional development, performance, investigations, and disciplinary action, ensuring a fair and equitable work environment.
  • Maintain knowledge of HR policies and procedures, as well as state and federal labor laws, to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
  • Process documents and forms necessary for the implementation of various Human Resources policies, programs, plans, procedures, and practices.
  • Maintain all necessary records and files to support review and audits, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
  • Assist in the management and administration of company benefit programs, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions, collaborating with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Onboard new employees and conduct new hire orientation, ensuring a smooth transition and effective onboarding process.
  • Assist the HR Department on other assignments and/or special projects as requested, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to excellence.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships at all levels, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Take initiative and demonstrate a bias for action, with a high sense of urgency and a commitment to results.
  • Handle multiple tasks and function in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with strong presentation and listening skills.

Job Qualifications
  • HR Generalist with 5-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing operation.
  • Experience conducting complex investigations and taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Experience planning and coordinating employee engagement activities, promoting a culture of excellence and employee satisfaction.
  • Employee relations experience, including corrective action, investigations, employee interviews, and disciplinary action.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, ensuring compliance and best practices.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, maintaining positive relationships at all levels.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, preferably with a PHR Certification.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies.
