Job Summary:

The Social Services Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the operations of the social services department at The Salvation Army. This position will assist in various tasks, including helping with the lunch program, inputting client data, maintaining statistics, and assisting with holiday programs. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid CA driver's license, and experience in Microsoft programs. Bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus. The successful candidate will be able to lift up to 25 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment. If you are a team player with excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the operation of the Social Services department
  • Assist the lunch program and input client data
  • Maintain statistics of all Corps social services programs
  • Assist in holiday programs
  • Pick up donations
  • Other related duties as required

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • CA Driver's License (required)
  • ServSafe Food handling certificate (within first fourteen days of employment- company provided)
  • Experience in Microsoft programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)

Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes)
