Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Care Specialist to join our breast oncology team at MD Anderson Cancer Center. As a key member of the surgical team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and supporting our mission to end cancer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in breast oncology procedures, utilizing precision and skill with surgical instruments and sterile techniques.
  • Conduct peri-operative care, including history and physical exams, in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Manage pre- and post-operative patients, focusing on wound care and healing.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures, such as drain placement/removal, wound care, and biopsies.
  • Communicate effectively with the care team, patients, and families, offering education and guidance.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • PA certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners.
